define what a fulfilling supply chain career looks like to you

In this day and age, it’s not just about securing employment so that you can put food on the table and a roof over your head. We have the luxury of being able to find a career that is fulfilling in its own right and not just a way to survive. The thing is, finding fulfillment in your career isn’t always that easy, especially if you are unsure of what it is you want to be doing. However, before building your skills for a job and before changing jobs, you should determine what fulfilling means to you.

A fulfilling job can be different to different people. For some, job security is plenty fulfilling. For others, meaning and satisfaction from their jobs are necessary for fulfillment.

In order to figure out what exactly is fulfilling to you, keep the following in mind:

  • Confusion is okay – Just because you are confused over what career path will be most fulfilling to you doesn’t mean you should stress out about it. There are plenty of career options available to you, which makes it more difficult to figure out. This is normal.
  • Know who you are – You won’t know what you want to do until you figure out what it is you like. Figure out what your joys in life are and figure out if they align with a certain job.
  • Think about it – Take the time to think about it, even if it’s kind of scary to do so. If you don’t think about it, it will take longer to find a job that is fulfilling to you.
  • Try new things – One of the best ways to figure out what it is you like to do is by trying new things. You could end up finding something you love, or you could just end up eliminating things you turn out not to love.

These are a few things to keep in mind. Additionally, always be confident in yourself, even if you don’t know what you want to do. For tips on building your skills for a job, contact us at Optimum SCR today.
