Reasons Your Company May Be Losing Talent

It’s difficult enough to find talent to fill your open positions. It’s even more difficult when those employees leave, and you’re back at square one. There are many reasons why good employees leave, but it’s often difficult for people ingrained in an organization or company to see the fatal flaw. You’re Resistant to Change

Millennial employees, in particular, want to know they’re working for a company that cares about sustainability and using updated technology. If you’re stuck in the dark ages, you could see good employees leave to go somewhere that focuses on innovation. Talk to people in the company for their honest opinions about how you’re using technology. If the consensus is that you could do more, look into how new tech such as artificial intelligence could improve the work process.

There’s No Work/Life Balance

The term “work/life balance” is thrown around a lot these days, and it’s increasingly important in the age of cell phones. One of the top reasons employees leave is that they’re constantly working and there are no benefits that make them feel like work isn’t all about just getting a paycheck. Try instituting work-from-home policies, flexible schedules or educational opportunities that can re-invigorate your essential employees.

This isn’t uncommon in supply chain management, but it can become that way if you don’t let your employees take on additional tasks. Instead of keeping analysts in their own world, let them experience how different parts of the supply chain discipline work, including logistics, distribution, procurement and planning.
